The Impact of the Log-Sawing Patterns on the Quantitative and Qualitative Yield of Beech Timber (Fagus sylvatica L.)

The cost of raw materials has a major role in the wood industry. From this point view, it is necessary to pay attention correct log-sawing pattern, which will optimize sawing process and increase quantity quality material as well. For measurements, we used beech (Fagus sylvatica L.). Beech L.) most common species Slovak Republic; total amount forests 34.8%. high frequency defects, such red false heartwood, reaction (i.e., tension wood), dote, cracks, so on. This research aimed analyze effect patterns through-and-through sawing, cant quarter on resulting quantitative–qualitative yields timber. results showed that highest quantitative yield was observed with at 84%, was, average, 17.3% higher compared other types cutting. It found resulted qualitative or (V5 = 62.69% V6 47.86%).
